Compare the total cost of home cleaning rather than looking only at the advertised hourly rate. Tasks, estimated time and charging methods can differ.

What determines the cost?

The price can depend on floor area, complexity, location, timing and how often the cleaning is carried out.

Ask for the total price or hourly price including applicable VAT.
Check any minimum number of hours.
Ask whether travel, equipment and products are included.
Confirm separate charges for oven cleaning, windows and other extras.

Compare equivalent offers

A quote that includes equipment and travel is not directly comparable with one that charges for them separately. Provide the same description and expected duration to every provider.

Agree on the work in writing

Confirm the scope, date, price and change or cancellation terms. Ask what happens if the work takes longer than expected.
