Household tax deduction for cleaning

Cleaning work carried out at your home may be eligible for the Finnish household tax deduction (kotitalousvähennys), depending on current rules and the provider.

Check the work and provider's eligibility

Consult the Finnish Tax Administration's current rules to determine whether the work is deductible and which requirements apply to the provider. One factor to check is registration in the prepayment register.

Keep receipts

Keep invoices and proof of payment. Separating labour costs from other charges can affect the amount eligible for deduction.

Avoid outdated tax figures

The deduction rate, threshold and maximum can change. Check the rules for the relevant tax year before making a decision.

This is general guidance. Confirm the scope and applicable terms with your provider. Check tax matters with the Finnish Tax Administration. The app is available in open testing on Google Play. Registration is free. Customers pay a €12.50 service fee when booking, plus the separately agreed cleaning price.
